I wish a Merry Christmas!!
For the past few days, I have been staying near New Delhi due to small reasons.
As a sightseeing, I went to Agra and visit Taj Mahal.
The magnificent white palace had something that moved people beyond religious boundaries.
...Now, I would like to move on to topic about food.
Agra is famous for its sweets called petha.
(I forgot to take a picture, so I'll attach one I found on Google.)
This is made by soaking the flesh of winter melon etc. in syrup.
It has a very high sugar content, has a crunchy texture, and is very sweet.
Even after searching, I finally couldn't find out why this sweet was so famous in Agra.
As you already know, microorganisms cannot survive in an environment with very high sugar content. Therefore, I think this may be one kind of preserved food.

Is the photo of Taj Mahal taken by yourself? That is exactly what we imagine.
ReplyDeleteYes, this photo was taken by myself.
DeleteTaj Mahal was looked blurry due to heavy air pollution and fog in Delhi.

ReplyDeleteIt's not so big, maybe you can pick them up with your fingers.
DeleteFor example, it's about the size of AirPods.
