Hello Everyone,

Welcome to our class "Foods and Culture 2023." I am Takashi MIYAKE, the class director.

This online class will run from November to February. During this term, you are expected to make AT LEAST 1 post and 1 comment once a week. Of course, more contributions (more posts/comments) are welcome! Please don't hesitate to share your messages. I believe your messages will stimulate discussions in this class.

NEVER BE AFRAID TO USE ENGLISH. English here is just one of the common tools for mutual understanding. As you know, people use various languages, and English is just a tool for communication. Therefore, don't be afraid of making mistakes in English grammar.

Sometimes, I myself use imperfect English, but I'm not afraid of that. Try to express yourself and your thoughts in English. To do so, please use simpler words and sentences. This class welcomes communication using less-than-perfect English.
